Fill this mini backpack with candy for a fun party favor. Backpack stands about 4" tall and 3" wide.
Supplies:
Coordinating cardstock, patterned paper and embellishments
(1) velcro circle (cut in half) to hold flaps closed
(1) eyelet
10" ribbon
adhesive
scoring tool
eyelet kit
scissors
backpack templates (see next photos in this gallery)
Instructions:
1. Trace templates onto cardstock and cut out out along solid lines. Also cut flaps on Front Pocket template (see solid lines on this template). Score on dotted lines on all pieces.
2. Fold backpack and glue flaps, using photos as a guide. Holding the folded backpack upright, I "squished" the tops of the backpack together gently and allowed it to crease along the sides slightly.
3. Using patterned paper and embellishments, decorate the flaps of the pockets as desired.
4. Fold the front flap along the score lines. Using the eyelet kit, set the single eyelet in the center of the thin flap top as shown in the photo. Double the ribbon, thread the ends through the eyelet from the top through the bottom, and knot from underneath to from a loop for hanging. Decorate the front flap as desired. Attach the completed front flap to the backpack.
5. Fold the front pocket along the score lines. Decorate the front pocket as desired. Glue and attach the completed front pocket to the backpack.
6. Cut the velcro circle in half, and use one piece as a closure on each flap.
7. Fill with candy and enjoy!
